Local charity Havafeed is in desperate need of a range of non-perishable foodstuffs to help it continue its work helping disadvantaged Gold Coasters when the cost of living is skyrocketing.
The local not-for-profit charity has been providing assistance and relief with Hot meals and food parcels for nearly 30 years and now needs your support to continue the work they do from the Gold Coast Community Centre at Mermaid Beach.
Jodie Shepherd from Local Gold Coast Radio station, the Breeze 100.6 FM recently went to visit Havafeed to lend a helping hand. She found out firsthand what the team needed to continue their valuable work.
“It’s not only ingredients for breakfasts and lunches they need, Havafeed also provides food and care parcels for those who are struggling to make ends meet.” She said.
“Havafeed needs weekly donations and the Breeze is helping out with grocery deliveries each month to support the valuable work that Lindsay, Robyn, and the team of volunteers do at Havafeed.”
Can you help?
Havafeed urgently needs the following:
Longlife milk, a variety of tinned products including vegetables, fruit, baked beans, spaghetti, soup, tuna, and spam. Pasta, pasta sauce, rice, breakfast cereals, toiletry items including shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toothpaste.
Financial donations can be made through the website here or you can drop your donations in at the Mermaid Beach Community Centre during opening hours.
